1. Who you're dealing with
SORTD is published by SORTD Studio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [COMPANY_NUMBER]), registered office [REGISTERED_OFFICE]. "We" and "us" mean that company. "You" means whoever is using the app.
By downloading or using SORTD, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.
2. Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use SORTD on devices you own or control, for your own personal use. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source of the app, and you may not use it for anything unlawful.
You need to be at least 13 to use SORTD, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
3. Your account
If you create an account, keep your login details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at contact@sortd.studio if you think someone else has got into it.
4. Your content is yours
Everything you write in SORTD belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and no licence over it — which is straightforward, because it stays on your device and we never receive it. See the privacy policy for the detail.
Because your data is local, backups are on you. If you delete the app, reset your device, or lose it, that content is gone and we cannot recover it. Use your device's own backup if it matters.
5. Subscriptions and payment
SORTD is sold on subscription. Prices are shown in the App Store before you buy, in your local currency.
- Payment is taken by Apple through your App Store account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings, not in the app — we can't cancel it for you.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. If something has gone wrong, email us anyway and we'll help where we can.
If we change the price, we'll tell you before it applies to you, and you'll be free to cancel.
6. Availability and changes
We'll do our best to keep SORTD working and to keep improving it, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may add, change or remove features over time. If we ever have to discontinue the app, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can get your data off your device.
7. What SORTD isn't
SORTD is a productivity and journalling app. It isn't medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it isn't a substitute for professional support. If you're struggling, please talk to someone qualified.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
If you're a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms don't affect.
9. Ending it
You can stop using SORTD whenever you like — cancel your subscription and delete the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we're required to by law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we'll flag it in the app or by email. Carrying on using SORTD after a change means you accept the new terms.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can bring proceedings in your own local courts.
